William P Nesler
August 25, 1941 – September 14, 2017

William, better known as “Bill” by some, “Slick” by others, passed away with family by his side and in the loving arms of his bride of 57 years, last Thursday, September 14, 2017.
Bill was born in San Jose, CA. Loved and raised by his father, Patrick E. Nesler and his beloved mother, Laura E. Nesler. He lived in Solano County for over 60 years. He graduated Armijo High School in 1959. Bill had a deep love of his country and served in the US Navy on the U.S.S Coral Sea for 4 years and the reserves for another 2 years. He married and is survived by the love of his life, Linda K. Mills on March 5, 1960. They celebrated 57 years of marriage together, raising three children and eventually retiring from AT&T in Fairfield, CA.
Never really being able to retire, Bill successfully ran telecommunication companies. Eventually running his own with a group of friends for many years, WEBB communications.
He was passionate about anything he put his mind to. He never seemed to do anything half way. Successfully racing pigeons for 45+years, with his son William “Mac” Nesler Jr. under the name of Nesler & Son with the TCH pigeon club out of Suisun Valley. He loved his family and anything to do with getting together including camping, fishing, BBQ’s, holidays, snowmobiling, harley rides, quad riding, classic cars and one of his greatest passions, traveling with his wife across the country in their RV.
Bill grew up with his sister’s Patricia Ramirez, Linda Martin and his brother Patrick Nesler. He was elated to meet his extended family of three brothers and two sisters, later in his life, Dennis Becco, Elizabeth Locks, Myron Rugne Jr., Robin Rugne and Robert Rugne. His love of family made his new connection to this extended family easy for him and he enjoyed the family reunions that came about from this wonderful discovery.
It is impossible to know the number of people whose lives were affected by his words of wisdom or inability to close the door on someone in need.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Theresa and Erik Toner, William “Mac” and Kathy Nesler Jr., Shawna and Joe Lewis. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and not to mention countless nieces and nephews who all loved and were loved by him.

“We’ve not just lost a family member, we have just lost our best friend.”
